Màrcio Lopes Anel by Proibido Tinto is a red wine made from the Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Vinhao varieties in the Douro Superior area, in Portugal. Anel means, in Portuguese, ring, and with this wine Márcio Lopes tries to demonstrate his commitment to the land. Therefore, it is a wine that speaks to us of the Douro Superior, where the soils are schist, and the vines are coplanted. This is a Douro red produced in the traditional way in wineries where the grapes are trodden as always. It is true that, on occasions, the traditional wines of the Douro Superior are powerful, but here we have a fresh wine from soils with a strong mineral component, and that is drunk at a price above its price. A great little wine to introduce yourself to the reds of the Douro.
