The Gran Reserva 890 from La Rioja Alta is made with Tempranillo (95%) and Mazuelo (2%) from their own vineyards in Briñas, Labastida and Villalba y Graciano (3%) from the Montecillo estate in Fuenmayor. After a gentle destemming and squeezing, the musts underwent alcoholic fermentation in 18 days. The Tempranillo and the Mazuelo, blended in the field, fermented together while we vinified the Graciano separately. Malolactic fermentation took place naturally for four months. It is aged in barrels for 6 years with 10 traditional rackings. It is the first vintage of Gran Reserva 890 to be made after the mythical 2005. One of the best of the 21st.
