The Palo Cortado that is number 72 in the La Bota series has an oxidative origin. It is a particularly fine and expressive wine, of great complexity, combining notes of oloroso and amontillado. The origin of this bottling dates back more than five years when Equipo Navazos selected the finest casks from those that the wine merchant Juan García Jarana had undergoing oxidative aging. At that time, a portion of the wine was bottled as La Bota de Palo Cortado 34. The five additional years of aging leading to this 72nd bottle took place at Fernando de Castilla, where a small altar of six casks bearing the unmistakable mark of Equipo Navazos rests.
