Description
A Fino that begins its journey towards Amontillado, a wine labeled Fino Amontillado by winemakers and experts, even though current regulations have prohibited it. An aged fino that over time conveys the distinctive limestone terroir of the finest pedro ximénez grape vineyards in the Sierra de Montilla and Altos de Moriles. La Bota de Fino No. 124 "A fino destined for amontillado..." comes from the oldest fino solera of Bodega Los Amigos de Pérez Barquero, with sixty-three casks in third, of which Equipo Navazos selects twelve considered particularly expressive. The solera was in balance, with more evident amontillado notes than in the first edition (No. 45) and similar to the second edition, No. 85. As in previous occasions, we choose casks that clearly exhibit the character of aged fino, confirmed by an alcohol content of 16.5%. A truly old fino, with an estimated average age of around 15 years, where the flor is weak and dark. In many aspects, this wine is the Cordoban equivalent of La Bota de Manzanilla Pasada from Equipo Navazos, with its own personality inherent in the differences in terroir, grape variety, and winemaking culture between Sanlúcar and Montilla.
