Krug is considered one of the most celebrated, legendary, and distinguished Champagne houses in the world, founded in Reims in 1843 by Joseph Krug. It stands out for its radically different philosophy: its aim is to produce the most generous and elegant Champagne each year, regardless of the harvest's climatic challenges.
Krug 2011 is the expression of an unpredictable year, divided in two, with the seasons reversed: an unusually warm spring followed by a cool and rainy summer. It is a blend of the House's traditional varieties, but tailored to the 2011 vintage: Pinot Noir (46%), Chardonnay (37%), and Meunier (17%). The base wine was fermented entirely in old oak barrels and then aged on its lees for 10 years.
