A winery with more than a century and a half of history

Hijos de Rainera Pérez Marín traces its origins back to 1852 in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, one of the true birthplaces of manzanilla.

Since then, the winery has been almost entirely dedicated to a single flagship product: Manzanilla La Guita, a name that has become a benchmark within the Sherry region.

Sanlúcar, where manzanilla is born

The identity of La Guita cannot be understood without Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Its Atlantic climate, constant humidity, and proximity to the Guadalquivir River create the perfect conditions for the development of the flor yeast, which gives manzanilla its unique character.

This is a wine that cannot be separated from its environment. It quite literally lives because of it.

Soleras, patience and continuity

The ageing of La Guita is based on a system of soleras located across different sites in Sanlúcar, including Calle Misericordia and the Miraflores and Sanlúcar Viejo areas.

These cellars contain thousands of barrels dedicated exclusively to biological ageing, in a system where every “saca” is a continuation of the previous one.

A popular manzanilla with a traditional soul

Although La Guita has evolved over time to meet growing demand, it remains faithful to its Sanlúcar origins.

Historically, it was a more aged style of manzanilla, even close to a “pasada” profile, but over time it has been refined to preserve freshness, tension, and approachability without losing identity.

The role of Grupo Estévez

Since 2007, the winery has been part of Grupo Estévez, alongside other historic Sherry houses such as Valdespino and Marqués del Real Tesoro.

This integration has allowed the group to strengthen resources and ensure the continuity of La Guita within a structure specialised in high-quality fortified wines.

Local grapes and cooperative origins

The grapes used come mainly from the Cooperativa Covisan, which brings together numerous local growers from Sanlúcar.

This ensures a deeply local origin and consistency in the wine’s character, always tied to the Palomino Fino grape.

A direct, classic and recognizable style

La Guita is defined by its dry, saline, and light profile, with the characteristic tension of manzanilla aged under flor.

It is a highly recognizable style within the Sherry region, designed for everyday enjoyment but backed by a strong historical foundation.
