Sweet botrytis wine, based on Riesling but including other varieties such as Rieslaner of Scheurebe, depending on the vintage. PIUS is the first sweet wine to be harvested at the winery and Klaus Peter intends it to be an introduction to the sweet house wines.
RR is a wine that comes from a red slate sub-plot within a Grosses Gewachs estate but is nevertheless priced lower than the Grosse Gewachse. Rheinhessen has traditionally been one of the least noble wine regions in Germany, with the Kellers being the architects of a revolution in the area in the last ten years.
The basic Keller wine is a reference year after year in our portfolio and allows you to enjoy a great wine at a moderate price. One of our clients said of him that the nose is of good intensity and is very well outlined, with a mainly citrus character. Maximum 3 bottles per client.
Von der Fels means "from the rocks", and this wine comes from the lower part of the Kirchspiel estate (with the rank of Grosses Gewachs) that the Kellers declassify and that offers, perhaps, that perfect balance between quality and price within the spectrum. Maximum 6 bottles per client.
In one of the best vineyards from Weingut Keller there are a few very old plants (more than 120 years old) of Silvaner interspersed with the Riesling, and with them the Kellers make this Feuervogel (fire bird) that is very fine on the nose and very resounding in the mouth, like a good Silvaner.
Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc would be an exotic mix in Burgundy. And a delight at the Rheinhessen. Although Klaus Peter Keller is known for his handling of the Riesling grape, he now presents us with a combination of two white varieties almost as aristocratic as that one. An affordable wine to enjoy a Keller wine at a great price.
