Since 1750, the Gimonnet family has cultivated vineyards in Cuis, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. It was in 1955 that Pierre Gimonnet & Fils defined its style, centered on Champagne Blanc de Blancs, made exclusively with Chardonnay. Today, Pierre Gimonnet Champagnes are renowned for their freshness, minerality, and elegance, the result of exceptional vineyards and three generations dedicated to expressing the character of the Côte des Blancs.

Pierre Gimonnet & Fils: The Story of a Family House

At Coalla Gourmet, we present Pierre Gimonnet & Fils, a historic Champagne house with roots in Cuis dating back to 1750. However, the style that defines Pierre Gimonnet today began to take shape in 1955, when Michel Gimonnet decided to specialize in producing Blanc de Blancs Champagne, made exclusively with Chardonnay.

Since then, the house has become a benchmark among Champagnes from the Côte des Blancs, known for their freshness, precision, and pronounced minerality.

Currently, the winery is managed by Olivier and Didier Gimonnet, grandsons of the founder, who continue with the same philosophy: to produce producer Champagnes that respect the vineyard and reflect the character of the terroir.

Vineyards in the Côte des Blancs

Pierre Gimonnet & Fils works exclusively with its own vineyards located in some of the finest terroirs of the Côte des Blancs. The winery owns 25 hectares spread across Premier Cru plots in Cuis and Grand Cru plots in Cramant and Chouilly.

Many of these vines are over 35 years old, and some emblematic plots, such as Buissons and Au fond du Bateau, are over 80 years old. This maturity allows for the production of Chardonnay Champagne with great concentration, elegance, and a very distinctive mineral profile.

Pierre Gimonnet Champagnes are distinguished by their balance of freshness, tension, and minerality. The house style aims for the Blanc de Blancs to clearly express the vineyard's origin, using a moderate dosage that allows the character of the Chardonnay and the terroir to manifest itself with purity.

The result is elegant, precise, and complex champagnes that perfectly embody the identity of the Côte des Blancs.
