A Modern Project in Saint-Émilion
Château Rocheyron is part of Vignobles Silvio Denz and is located in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, within the prestigious Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation.
Since 2010, the project has been led by Silvio Denz alongside winemaker Peter Sisseck, with the aim of revealing the fullest expression of this historic terroir.
The approach combines technical precision, respect for nature, and a modern vision of terroir-driven wine.
An Exceptional Limestone Terroir
The vineyard covers 8.45 hectares on the famous limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion.
The soils are composed of Oligocene limestone with asterias, one of the most prestigious terroirs in the region.
This soil type brings freshness, tension, minerality, and excellent aging potential to the wine.
A Small Vineyard of Great Precision
Château Rocheyron is a small-scale vineyard, allowing extremely precise work on each individual parcel.
The vines are mainly planted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the classic varieties of Bordeaux’s Right Bank.
Yields are kept low, ensuring concentration and quality in every harvest.
Biodynamic Viticulture and Organic Certification
The estate has been farmed biodynamically since 2014.
It later entered Biodyvin conversion and achieved organic certification with the 2020 vintage.
This approach is based on observing the soil, following natural seasonal rhythms, and fully respecting the ecosystem.
Precision Winemaking
Winemaking is carried out parcel by parcel in temperature-controlled concrete tanks.
The goal is to preserve the purity of the fruit and the identity of each plot.
Gentle extraction techniques are used to respect the wine’s natural elegance.
Aging and Wine Style
The wine is aged for approximately 18 months in French oak barrels.
Aging is carefully balanced to maintain freshness, fruit expression, and minerality.
The final style is elegant, refined, and highly precise.
Style and Tasting Notes
Château Rocheyron is an elegant wine combining fresh red fruit, floral notes, and limestone-driven minerality.
On the palate, it is precise, fresh, and balanced, with fine tannins and remarkable purity.
It stands out for its direct expression of Saint-Émilion’s limestone terroir.
