Château Angélus, the excellence of Saint-Émilion
Château Angélus is much more than a wine: it is one of Bordeaux’s great estates, located in the heart of Saint-Émilion. Its name comes from the Angelus bells that could be heard ringing from three nearby churches, a symbol that still defines the estate today.
Our history
The Boüard family history dates back several centuries, with roots in Bordeaux since the 16th century. The modern estate began in the early 20th century, when the family acquired and developed the vineyards that would become Château Angélus. Generation after generation, the family has pursued excellence in winemaking.
Our philosophy
Château Angélus blends tradition and innovation in the pursuit of perfection. Over recent decades, the estate has significantly evolved, modernizing vineyard and cellar practices while preserving the unique character of its terroir. This commitment led to its top classification as Premier Grand Cru Classé A.
Our passion
In its vineyards, dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Franc, each plot is carefully managed to express the identity of Saint-Émilion soils. Each wine reflects generations of expertise, combining elegance, depth, and balance. Château Angélus is not just a wine, but a legacy of family, land, and excellence.
