Can Rafols dels Caus
Can Rafols is Carlos Esteva and it's Garraf. It's Carlos Esteva because this winemaker's philosophy is to make terroir-driven wines that reflect the winemaker's personality. And it's Garraf because this limestone massif is a small geological anomaly near the Mediterranean, protected by the Sierra del Litoral mountain range and an idyllic place for making great wines.

A winery in harmony with nature
Can Ràfols dels Caus is located in the Garraf Massif, a privileged area of mountains, forests, vineyards, and aromatic flora that gives its wines a unique character. Of the 450 hectares of the estate, only 52 are suitable for cultivation, carefully selected to ensure the highest quality. The winery blends traditional winemaking with architecture integrated into the landscape, including a vinification and aging cellar embedded in the rock.
Carlos Esteva: vision, innovation, and passion
The soul of Can Ràfols dels Caus is Carlos Esteva, a pioneer in introducing varieties such as Xarel·lo and Sumoll and in implementing organic farming. His innovative spirit and wine expertise have shaped the winery’s unique identity, producing elegant, sensitive, and complex wines. This approach has enabled differentiated microvinifications and a diverse portfolio of wines and cavas.
Unique vineyards and native varieties
The vineyards cover 90 terraced hectares, divided into small plots with up to 28 varieties. Native grapes like Xarel·lo and Macabeu (white) and Sumoll (red) stand out, along with varieties adapted to the Garraf, such as Chenin Blanc and Incrocio Manzoni. Many plots are historic, with vines planted as early as 1934. All vineyards follow organic and biodynamic practices, with hand-harvesting and spontaneous fermentations, preserving the natural expression of each grape.
Art, landscape, and sustainability
At Can Ràfols dels Caus, wine is approached as art. The winery embodies culture, aesthetics, and respect for the land. Every bottle reflects a balance between landscape, history, and creativity, conveying unique emotions. Production is sustainable, chemical-free, respecting the natural cycles of the vines and promoting responsible viticulture.
