De la Riva
Bodegas De La Riva is a living testament to Jerez history. Founded in the 19th century and revitalized in 2017, this winery combines tradition and modern reinterpretation to craft unique wines from Macharnudo and Sanlúcar, with limited production and an identity deeply rooted in the terroir.

At Coalla Gourmet, we bring you closer to Bodegas De La Riva, a historic Jerez winery founded in the mid-19th century by Manuel Antonio de la Riva y Pomar, which later passed into the hands of Pedro Domecq. In 2017, Willy Pérez and Ramiro Ibáñez revived the winery with a clear purpose: to restore its grandeur by respecting its origins and reviving traditional winemaking methods.
A project that looks to the past to innovate.
Willy, focused on the inland vineyards of Jerez, such as Macharnudo—with its more structured and complex wines—and Ramiro, an expert in the more Atlantic and saline profiles of Sanlúcar, form a perfect team. Together, they reinterpret the Jerez region with absolute respect for the vineyards and the landscape.
Historic vineyards and unique winemaking techniques.
The winery owns 53 hectares in Macharnudo, one of the most prestigious vineyard areas in Jerez. They produce wines using the solera system and also aged wines that revive traditional styles. Their white wine from the El Notario vineyard stands out, aged under flor yeast and with a light eight-hour sun exposure, which imparts complexity, structure, and character.
Limited Productions and Authentic Gems
Among their regular offerings are Macharnudo Alto Aged Wine, San Cayetano Aged Wine, and two Manzanilla sherries—Fina and Pasada—all of which are produced in limited quantities. These are wines that stir emotions, are profound, saline, and full of nuances, connecting directly with the essence of the Jerez region.
