Domaine des Ardoisières was founded in the late 1990s with the goal of restoring vineyards in one of the most demanding landscapes in France: Savoie.
The project is based in Cévins and Saint-Pierre-de-Soucy, on extremely steep slopes where viticulture becomes almost heroic.

Extreme vineyards between schist and altitude

The vines are planted on slopes that can reach 60% incline or more, making all vineyard work entirely manual.
The soils are composed of schist, mica-schist, and marl, giving the wines a pronounced mineral character.

Altitude and the alpine climate create slow ripening conditions and remarkably precise natural acidity.

Indigenous grape varieties of Savoie

The domaine works mainly with local grape varieties perfectly adapted to the alpine environment.
