Pelayo nos cuenta que en un viaje a Nueva York se quedaron prendados de los desayunos a base de yogur o queso fresco batido y una mezcla de avena, nueces, pasas y pipas, aderezada con sirope de arce y posteriormente horneada. Un desayuno "crunchy" que, a su regreso a la “tierrina”, y viendo que aquí seguíamos fieles a los pobres tazones de cereales con leche, tenían que darle una vuelta, mejorar esa receta con productos de aquí, y hacer moda en toda España.
