A free-spirited project in the heart of the Jura
Domaine de l’Octavin was founded in Arbois by Alice Bouvot, one of the most distinctive figures in French natural wine.
The project is based on a clear idea: to intervene as little as possible so that the wine expresses its place without filters or corrections.
Over time, the domaine has grown through small owned parcels and a carefully selected négociant range.
Vineyards in Arbois and biodynamic farming
The vineyards are farmed under organic certification and Demeter biodynamic standards.
A living ecosystem is encouraged in the vineyard, where grasses, insects, and biodiversity are part of the natural balance.
The goal is not to control the environment, but to coexist with it.
Traditional Jura grape varieties
The domaine mainly works with native varieties such as Poulsard, Trousseau, Savagnin, and Chardonnay.
Gamay and other grapes also appear in more experimental cuvées.
These varieties allow a precise expression of the Jura’s identity, defined by freshness and minerality.
Non-intervention winemaking
Since 2009, the wines have been made without additives: no added sulphites, no selected yeasts, and no filtration.
Fermentations are spontaneous, respecting the natural rhythm of the grapes.
Each cuvée is understood as a free interpretation of the vintage and terroir.
A style between vibrancy and unpredictability
L’Octavin wines are known for their energy, freshness, and unconventional character.
They can be light, explosive, or even slightly wild, but always with a strong identity.
