The Mestres family has been rooted in Penedés since 1312, with their residence and winery located in the current Town Hall Square of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. Over thirty generations, patience and time have become their most valuable treasure.
Since the winery’s inauguration in 1861, Mestres has built an uninterrupted tradition of producing long-aged sparkling wines, combining innovative spirit with absolute commitment to excellence.
History and milestones
- 1925: First harvest focused on sparkling wine production
- 1928: First bottle of Mestres sparkling wine released
- 1945: First bottles of Visol
- 1948: Visol registered as the first Brut Nature
- 1950: Focus on gastronomic cavas with long aging
