Garmón
Garmón Continental is what happens when one of Spain’s most influential wine families decides to make Ribera del Duero without rush or compromise. The García family — the same behind Mauro and San Román — work with old vineyards scattered across small villages, focusing not on easy power but on precision. High-altitude Tempranillo, poor soils, slow ripening, and a clear idea: to craft a more refined, longer, and more serious expression of Ribera del Duero than usual. A wine that doesn’t shout, but commands respect. Buy Garmón Continental at Coalla Gourmet.

The third great winery of the García family
Garmón Continental is the third project of the García family, following Mauro in Tudela de Duero and San Román in Toro.
A family-driven project that completes a key trilogy for understanding contemporary Ribera del Duero, always with Tempranillo as its central focus.
An extreme-vineyard Ribera del Duero
The grapes come from old vines located in small plots spread across Baños de Valdearados, Tubilla del Lago, Anguix, and Moradillo de Roa.
These are high-altitude, cold, continental areas situated between 850 and 1,000 meters above sea level.
This environment forces a slow, balanced ripening process, which is essential to the wine’s style.
The value of time in the vineyard
The vines, many between 40 and 80 years old, produce low yields but offer great concentration and depth.
The work in these vineyards is focused on exactly that: less quantity, more expression.
A winery designed from the vineyard
The winery is located in Olivares de Duero, next to the river.
It is a functional space designed for precision: gravity-fed fermentation, stainless steel tanks, and full control over every stage of the process.
Refined ageing, not excessive oak
Ageing takes place in French oak barrels for an average of around 16 months.
The goal is not to impose oak on the wine, but to integrate it as a structural element.
A style between power and finesse
Garmón seeks a very specific balance:
- ripe but fresh fruit
- polished tannins
- firm but not heavy structure
- a sense of elegance over extreme concentration
It is a more restrained and precise style of top-tier Ribera del Duero.
A philosophy rooted in family and vineyard
The project reflects the García family’s commitment to working exclusively from the vineyard, respecting its identity and diversity.
There are no industrial formulas: each parcel contributes something different to the final blend.
Garmón Continental today
Today it is one of the most respected wines in modern Ribera del Duero, with limited production and strong international demand.
A project that proves that even in a region known for power, there is room for finesse.
